Here is what journalist Elisa Pervinca Bellini wrote in her article dated May 14, 2021: “On the subject of sustainable sneakers , an absolute novelty will be launched in a couple of weeks in Biella: it's called Valsaar, the project, named after the ancient name of the Cervo Valley, born from the synergy of Biella entrepreneurs, artisans, and artists to support that area severely hit by the last flood of 2020. Part of the proceeds, in fact, will be donated to the reconstruction of the works overwhelmed by the fury of the water. Valsaar is a handmade eco-sneaker, designed by Barbera Sandro & Figli and handcrafted using only natural, recycled, and recyclable materials; dyed exclusively with plant extracts by Tintoria Iride, it also sees the collaboration with the Pistoletto Foundation and fashion BEST.”
