The Valsaar project was born to promote a new way of producing and consuming, to rediscover a new harmony with Nature. For this reason, we are careful to use only eco-friendly products and materials in every detail, even when it comes to colors. All our products are dyed using only natural dyes, which do not produce chemical waste.
During the production cycle of synthetic dyes, many harmful substances such as sodium sulfide, aniline, copper sulfate, formaldehyde, and cyanide are released into the processing water. If not properly disposed of, these substances cause serious damage to the environment and human health.
Our eco-sneaker, for example, is dyed exclusively with plant extracts by Tintoria Iride Valle Cervo, which since 2011 has obtained the GOTS certification attesting to the sustainability and quality of the natural dyes used and has also developed a study on dyeing with natural dyes on pieces.
Our T-shirts, on the other hand, are the result of research by Madiva Eco Future, the first underwear company to offer garments dyed with fruit and vegetables. The cotton is dyed using blueberry puree, charcoal, meadow grass, berries, cocoa, green apple, or lemon, depending on the shade.
Natural dyes also meet the highest quality standards: colorfastness to washing is a 4 out of 5 score, measured according to international quality standards. After repeated washing in the washing machine, the dye may take on a vintage look and new hues, gradually fading. To keep the original color vibrant and bright for as long as possible, we recommend drying your garments away from direct sunlight and avoiding ironing at very high temperatures.
